1. Should the new administrator standards parallel the new teaching standards?
Technology has become a great means to improve curriculum and instruction within our classrooms. As administrators being the leaders of curriculum and instruction within the school setting, I think it would be in our best interest to have some links to the forms of technology used in the classroom. So yes, the new administrator standards should reflect the new teaching standards. Teachers and administrators alike must become fluent users of the technological tools of the classroom so they can help provide a relevant education to their students. I believe the standards should parallel one another especially when it comes to quality instruction. In determining what quality instruction looks like, it is imperative that the administrator know the standards set before the teachers and have a clear understanding of those goals. The purpose of education is teaching and learning with a concentrated focus on learning and technology is a driving force behind that goal.
2. Are there additional standards to which administrators should be held?
I don’t think there are any new standards to which administrators should be held though I feel administrators should embrace a leading role in ensuring their standards are carried out, therefore inspiring their teachers to do the same.
3. What is your overall reaction to the current administrator standards?
I feel these standards are a good foundation of what administrators need to know and practice. I do believe that the standards need to be revisited regularly to ensure we are keeping up with the ever-changing world of technology. We need to be fully aware of the tools and resources available to us so we can prepare our students for a digital world.

Seems like you and I are on the same page! I couldn't agree more, great posting!!!
You are so right! I agree with everything you said. I really like how you said that administration needs to know and understand the standards expected of teachers. Too many times administration has a general idea of what teachers are supposed to do but don't know specifically what it is nor do they know how to do it themselves and that is sad! Great comments! :)
You have a good idea for the standards to be revisited regularly to see if we are still on track with current trends in the technological world. In fact, your point should be carried across to all facets of teaching and leading; we need to reflect often on our practices and always seek to improve.
As you probably have noted, I am basicly expressing the same feelings in my posted blog about the standards. They should be parallel; however, administrators need to be on top of it to assure the technology standards are being carried out throughly and successfully. How can they do this if they are not technology literate in all the same areas?
